Hear!! Hear!! We had a paddler go over in 0 Celsius salt water and -10 Celsius air temps.. He had on pogies but no gloves. He was near the rocks in a swell and by the time we got him back into his boat, he'd lost the use of his hands. They "came back to life" while paddling on the way back. Let's jut say the thawing out process was very painful!!!

I strongly recommend NRS Toaster Mits for anyone paddling in cold water. They may be more cumbersome than finger gloves but keeping all the fingers together certainly goes a long way in keeping them nice and warm!!

Just my two cents worth,

Sean

p.s. You can never preach too much about cold water safety!!
