Plugs from a printer might work sometime in the future, but you really couldn't afford 1000hrs for a plug - that's 1/2 of a year in 40 hour work weeks.
Better get some checks on warpage also since the printing chamber is heated. Cooldown on a plastic part often warps things.
About cost, how much extra do you think it costs to heat the printing chamber in this example for 1/2 year? My wife gets mad at me for 2 months over winter at a moderate temperature delta.
