Very nice Peter. If you look at the specs for a decent sized sea kayak off the shelf in a carbon or carbon Kevlar layup, you will find that they come in around 22kg. Anything lighter and thickness and hull stiffness reduces and you can flex flattish areas of the hull with your hand. So that is actually a very respectable weight, and the wood is going to be much stiffer too.
