For the record the boat I want to build is based on the Baffin by BorealDesign, a Quebec-based company.

I bought the poly Baffin in 2009 and found it to be one of the best commercially-produced rolling boats!! It has hard chines - well, at least as hard as you can make in plastic - which makes it great for carving turns!! It's pretty low volume - another way I like my boats. Once I built a few wood/glass boats I found it hard to go back to the poly - it felt too slow and "flexy" in the waves.

I figured it would be nice to produce the boat in strip. It has what the company calls "reverse chines" which may prove challenging to reproduce!! You can see these chines in the image below!!

I should point out that it is available from the company in poly, composite and thermoplastic. There is even a one-off carbon fibre model out there - too sweet!!
