'Good to hear you are enjoying boatbuilding ...I am on #9: it does take a good hold!
I have attached a pic that may assist. This is on my current build which is close to launch. The bolt has been put through an epoxy filled hole as discussed by others, backed up with a good size washer and then sealed with sikaflex above and below deck. The loop of 4mm deck line was stitched and wound using an old fishing rod binding technique, and then covered with heat shrink.
