I took it more as a deliberate troll rather than an insult - thus a response suggesting that perhaps there were things to consider about a kayak that don't apply to a bike. Whatever the advantages or disadvantages, I can't see that anyone would invest in tubes, brazing equipment and other tools to build a tandem bike _before_ they'd had experience of riding a bike at all... But closing your mind to contrary opinions is pretty much guaranteed to get those opinions voiced, perhaps more vehemently than would otherwise be the case. Pointing out disadvantages that may not have been considered is _not_ bad-mouthing (combining responses to more than one post here, sorry:-)
