Roy, thank you for the advice. Safety concerns are certainly important for folks kinda making it up as we go like us. I certainly don't want to end up in a dangerous situation on the Missouri because our one boat is getting swept downstream without us in it.

Bill, I don't mean to offend anyone, it was meant to be more or less joking. We've had just about every tandem-fight you can on the bike, but the stupid high speed and endurance of one bike/kayak with two engines can't be beat.

Ric, the Cape Ann Double looks (to an unpracticed eye) very similar to the Guillemot. Similar shape, style and dimensions. Is there some big difference I am missing, or is that pretty much true?

Allan, why did you choose the NH? I don't really know what to look for, except that it's pretty unlikely that I'll end up building multiple tandems, so I want to make a good choice the first time.

Thank you to everyone for weighing in! I'm sure I'll have many more questions once we start building.
