You can do what I do, the forward end of the lines is a single line that is looped over the bow/stern toggle and is a piece of bungie. It is secured to the rest of the perimeter lines in the middle between the forward/aft most deck attachments. This allows the toggles to be secure and not flop around when in use and allows someone to easily grab the perimeter lines if needed since they are tightened with the bungie, so will go slack when someone grabs the lines.
