Duane Strosaker designed a Point Bennett Double. It's a stitch and glue boat. I've never tried one but I built the Point Bennett 18, which is a single. The hull designs are the same, so this would be a very fast boat that edges nicely. I think it is only 24' wide which is pretty narrow for a double.

The cockpits look to be pretty close together, but I've never had a problem with clashing paddles. It's just a matter of the rear paddler syncing with the foreward. After short while, it becomes intuitive and should not be considered a real downside of paddling a double. The worst that will happen is the two paddle will contact each other at times - no biggie!

I contemplated building this boat but I did not have a) the space for such a long hull or b) the desire to build another boat as I had just finished one!!

Duane no longer has his free plans for the double posted online but I am sure they can be gotten somewhere!!
