I too am not fond of tandems but the Sport Tandem is pretty skinny, if both you and your wife have a fair amount of experience in skinny boats it probably would be fun, otherwise you might be better with a wider one. Even a wider one will be tippy with a sail, the skinny one would be a serious challenge, I'd bet, to keep upright under sail.
