Epoxy: Pre preg

Haven't posted here for a long while but I read posts fairly often.Thought I'd share this...

The other day I found a Utube clip of making DIY prepreg carbon cloth. I wondered if it would work on regular fiberglass cloth so I tried it with hopeful success .
I laid out a sheet of plastic ( 4-mm) Then 6-oz fiberglass cloth. saturated it with epoxy resin and laid over another piece of plastic. The piece about 12"x48" was rolled up and put in the freezer. I've used the freezer in the past for storing glue!(dukey)
After a couple of days in the freezer I pulled it out,cut off a small piece and tested it on a small repair . With scissors the pieces are easy to cut to the exact size. The plastic peels off one side like a band aid ,the cloth is then pressed in place using the one plastic side to smooth-it out. Now I am waiting for it to dry to see if the plastic will peel off leaving a good finish?
Working time seems to be about the same as if you just wet out the cloth in the normal fashion, but having the layer of plastic makes it so much cleaner and neater !! Almost like vacuum bagging.
This obviously is not for all epoxy applications but I can see it for lots of small jobs and things like seam tapes and anywhere a smaller piece is needed! I think it will save epoxy and cloth as you can cut off only as much as needed!
Anybody tried this??
Cheers
Terry
