Just discovered what the kayak needs is the combing riser. Is there an easier way to make the riser without having to glue in so many small pieces of wood? Thinking of making a single strip of cedar, 2 inches wide by 3/16 inches thick and as long as needed to fit around the inside of the cockpit. Bend the strip around a form using hot water, let dry and glue in place, flush with the underside of the cockpit opening. Next make another strip and bend it on a form sized to fit around the outside of the first riser. Let dry and glue in place. Trim and add combing. Any thoughts?
