I took this image during my drive home from Winnipeg, Manitoba, where I paddled with Ken and the boys along the south shore of Lake Winnipeg. The image is of an American Avocet. I was speeding past a duck pond when I spotted this odd coloration in behind some squabs but kept driving. After a few seconds I was still thinking about what I just saw, it didn't look right, so I made a hasty u-turn and checked it out. This image is what I found.
