Material: Using A Sheet of Polyethylene For Reinfo

I just bought a used Jackson Superstar kayak. Part of the bottom is pretty worn and I was thinking I could use a sheet of Polyethylene from this website- (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=23691&catid=705) to reinforce the bottom to prevent any holes in the future.
Has anyone tried this or do you think it is do-able? Thanks
