I've enjoyed this thread - very informative! Though not sure I've been convinced there's a 'right' way to do this! I'm inclined to running the pvc tube through an epoxy-thickened hole, as some here are doing.

AFA moisture content - I have to wonder how much the content changes over time, before 'sealing' with epoxy. If the build takes 6 months (I'm slow, so sue me!) - will the content go up if it's a bit humid? Dry, if out in the sun for a bit? What options do you really have to affect a change?
