I'm building a Petrel, and am getting close to putting it together and have a couple of questions. Where do/did you place your bulkheads? Do you install before or after the deck is joined to the hull?

Thanks,

David

David-
I don't know if your question is specific to Petrel builders, but....in my boats...
a) I put the rear bulkhead (if there is just one rear bhead) right behind the cockpit - generally I try to curve the bulkhead to allow better draining.
b) Position the seat. Position the footpegs, leaving a range of adjustment. Fwd bulkhead goes right in front of the footpeg rail. (Some people like to leave room for a drybag stuffed in front of their feet, but I don't.)
c) I always install bulkheads after the deck and hull are joined- too hard for me to do a good job of taping the hull/deck joint otherwise.
