The repair isn't all that tricky, it is though considerably time consuming. Grind and feather back the glass on both sides, carefully cut out the damaged wood, fit new wood (the fun part ) and re-glass.

Yeah matching the wood color is a little tricky, do lots of test pieces with resin coated samples of wood to see what pieces match, helps to number them (don't ask why I know this ).
