At the speeds we travel aerodynamics and hydrodynamics aren't so different. Subsonic aircraft do not have pointy noses and wings with sharp leading edges - unlike the supersonic variety. So I would say there's no benefit to be had from a very sharp prow, which would also be more likely to be damaged or cause injury to a swimmer. I protect the stems of my boats with 3/8" half-round brass strip.
