Hi Guy,

Great innovative design, but one question: When and if the boat is upside down wouldn’t the ferrules be beneath the waterline and cause a risk of water ingress?

Yes, I expect there will be some.But.
The cord is 3.5 mm and the ferrule ID are 1/8th inch 3.175 mm.Pull the cord and it shrinks [in tension]a little .It's [just] like stuffing big rope into a small tube and expecting the tube to allow water to flow through it,I guess and have, also, been hoping.
