Hello Farback

Yes those fittings can be real stickers. I am doing the same at this moment with my latest kayak. I love these things and they sure make the boat look great. I put a full lenght perimeter line as well as bungee on with these.
They can be a bear to get a line through and get the gluie sticks out after wetout.

I use glue sticks that come out ok but this time I also coated with wax to ease the removal. I had one get stuck last time and had to redo it. I added wax to the process and it came out easily. I also use soft vynle tubing to line the inside of the glass tubes to keep the shape and if you leave the tubing in the boat, sand it level and varnish over, it holds the bungee tight so it does not draw other sections tighter along the full lenght of line. It allows for each individual line to be adjusted seperatly.
