I used the stapleless method on the deck of my Georgian Bay. I loved it. It was very Zen and it worked better than staples on the hull for me (but that probably had more to do with the difference in twist between the two).

I did not use any masking tape on the plywood forms, and I did glue the strips to each and every form with a very small drop of hot glue. I also used many small scraps of cedar glued to the adjacent strip to keep the strips tight between forms.

The forms knocked out easily using Rob’s method. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't chagne a thing.
