I didn't read the whole article, am at work, but as I remember the bomber was built much like molded mahogany dinghys were, not much different from making plywood but in a mold to give it shape. I once worked for a summer while in high school for Douglas and McLeod which made Tartan sailboats and also Thistle and Highlander racing dinghys, they had stacks of the old molded mahogany plywood hull blanks all over the place at the time. Was a fairly fast way to build a boat, though it did require some big equipment. Now they are all f/g. Really wish I could have bought one of those old hull blanks, but they weren't for sale.

Cold molding, which is the replacement for the old hot molding technique can give superior results, which sounds like what is being done.
