Your very close on that one Robert. The pics are from when the boat still had the glass on it and revealing a horrible wet out. I then removed the glass just before I needed a heat gun to get the glass off. The removal left an imprint of the glass and what looked like a small amount of unwet fibers stuck to the surface of the seal coat.

The epoxy foamed quite a bit during application and this has not happened before to me. I am using the same methods for glassing that I have been for a couple of years with the addition of a few tricks here and there. All the same materials however.

I used the propane heater last year and everything went fine. No moisture that I can see at all. Dust still dusty but . . . . I did lay out my glass over a 60 degree sealed hull and then cranked on the heater to increase the heat to 85 degrees. If I heat first the epoxy becomes just tacky enough to make it very difficult to lay out and smooth glass. Maybe contact with the uncured thick epoxy caused some problems or moisture from the propane heater became trapped in the layed out cloth. 15 minuts of heating is all it took.

Thanks for all the advise, it sounds like Et had a similar problem and if I just sand it out smooth and then glass I will have the finish I started out to get.

Time to look into installing a vented gas or an electric heater OR moving in next door to Malcolm S. I hear he has an indoor shop!
