The native map program on the iPhone has taken a lot of heat, but the satellite photos on the new map program is much better than on the last version, and I've found the GPS pretty accurate. If you're paddling on a river, even a large one, I think that this app would be good. I'd use it for the same purpose as my go-to. What I WISH it would do is interface with NWS doppler radar, so it would show your exact position overlaying the radar. Standard radar is fine when you know where you are, but when you're out on a trip it's a different story.
