I've been on with posts about my saggy aluminium keel. I've assembled some of the materials I've got and just want to post a pick of it. I'll call her "Fluffy" and hope that she lives up to her name. There isn't anything of real interest though it probably will not turn out quite as the boats you know .. because of the carbon-stringers and such.
I believe that none of you builds in closer quarters than I - it's not possible to get a proper picture, and it's not possible to assemble the materials in all their length.
I've put the pics in a folder: "troelsgaard.net/images/ct_Images/Kayak/" .. your browser should be bright enough to find and show them if you cut/past.
The bow support-beam are taped on for a show. I might make it a tapered twin (widest at the keel) to prevent that it would bend left/right instead of straight toward the stern (my intuition of physics cannot decide weather it's a fig of imagination that it will happen).
The cross-section is a sort of design-disaster that only seems to serve one purpose: it's adjustable for fiddling the dimensions. I left the 'drawings' and I'm on my own devices from here. A nice option appears: I can pull the dimensions out from the perfect and beautiful lines that are drawn by the stringers .. or put in design-gobeldygog: the object expresses itself through it's materials. Perfect.
I have a problem: I need a couple of volunteers to hold my alu-bits and pieces while I weld with the torch and durafix .. otherwise it's so hard to do ;o/
