: We had sustained winds of 45 knots and gusts over 65 knots. Lost
: power around 4:30pm. Storm surge raised the river 6 feet above
: the full moon spring tide. We are 20' above sea level so it
: wasn't that close. The river in front of the house is very
: sheltered so no waves to speak of.

: When we woke up today the power was still out so we dropped the
: canoe in and paddled out to the beach off Bluff Point (near
: where Meet at the Beach is). The surge over-topped the beach
: depositing a lot of new sand. By the time we got back the power
: was on.

Good to hear that you're ok :)

I've spent a fair amount of time on the coast of NJ over the past decade or so, that area won't look the same anymore sorry to say.
