I totally understand that, its just that the location the keel is being held at by the frames in the photos is outside of the shape defined by the offsets.

: You have to suspend the idea that the frame is actually the same
: shape as the hull. It's not. It just holds the stringers which
: in turn determine the shape of the hull/deck. As said above, the
: gap allows for less chance of abrasion of the skin on the frame
: - which is why you also have the curvatures in the frames
: between stringers.
