If you are intending to install bulkheads then you really need to put in hatches. And they are so useful.

It is possible to retrofit hatches. I have done it and it is quite simple if you use ply rings.

You can also retro fit bulkheads quite easily, but it is even easier to fit them before the deck goes on.

For safety, especially if you need a deep water rescue, bulkheads are a real plus.

I would see the job through properly.
