The frame is stayting in it is a flat wide span. I plan to also glass inside (if you think it is not neccesary let me know). The tape is holding a very thin spacer so that when I glass the inside I can remove the spacer and still have a good fit. I have thought about putting a hatch in the front between frame segments and just gluing gortex over the holes in the frame but I doubt I will have the energy.
