: Thanks for sharing this Bjorn.

: (It's good to see that I'm not off in crazy land)

: I like the idea of a return to neutral rudder for all rudders.

Sorry, I don’t – sometimes one may wish to counteract a constant condition over a long time. Having to continually hold a rudder posture that wants to spring back might be annoying.
**

: (I think rudders should also be on an eccentric cam-so the first
: part of the adjustment is small, for slight corrections and so
: rudder can be used as a trim-tab, but pressing farther turns the
: rudder a lot more.)

Depending on the rudder section, they can stall readily at higher angles of attack, so great correction changes might not be the best setup in that critical regime.
**

: So the rudder post doesn't poke into the flow, I tabbed the rudder.

: Too bad about the rounded corners and turbulence. Scratch that
: idea.

I actually like your rounding of the rudder in side view in the location of the line retract, but Bjorns other comments should apply although your line retract on the trailing edge WILL help to align the blade into the slot at many angles.
This might make that approach worth playing with: keep the line slack during use and then really hauling on it to pull the blade into the slot.

You need to show a deploy line tho’ – maybe increase the size of the shaft, offset the pivot and thread down a bungee to the upper blade tab.
