What works on a completely open cockpit like a ski or even a mostly open cockpit like a K1 and what works on the average much smaller cockpit on the average kayak doesn't work the same way. No way to get the knee flex in a closed cockpit like the racing boats allow. Without the knee flex, the drive is more limited and often using the opposite side pedal to push on allows for better rotation.
