In Response To: Paddle: Bird's Mouth Euro Paddle - Building the Shaft *PIC* (Bob Beaullieu)

After cutting the strips, I assembled a short section of shaft (about 3") using rubber bands in order to get internal measurements for cutting the plugs I will use in the blade ends of the paddle.

The plan is to use a solid cedar plug that extends the full length of the blade plus about 6" into the shaft (about 25" total length for each plug). Following is a pic of the shaft section on one of the four plugs I cut.
