It's atlantic white cedar or as they called it, Juniper. Smells like a cross between cedar and gin. I used DF on a SOF and it was a nightmare to deal with. Brittle and gave me some wicked splitters. This AWC is actually cheaper at the local supplier and they had long stuff clearer than the WRC.

I had a very difficult time with the bow and stern strips, had to rip it apart around 3am, couldn't sleep with it that messed up. The transition from the hull to the bow and stern gave me fits too. I soaked, twisted, heated, steamed...not sure it is as it should be but I will never know the difference.

No more store bought kayaks for me. Unless I get a Remix69.
