: Normally I am against using pain killers because I believe pain is
: part of the healing process. Pain tells your body where the
: problem is.

I used to be the same way, but as I age I have found that if I have a pain in my shoulder or somewhere after working out or paddling or sleeping on it funny, it will make me tense up, and favor it, and those things both lead to problems of pain developing in other places because my two sides are working differently or not working at all. I've started taking an NSAID as soon as I get done with an activity if I'm feeling a twinge, and I've found that I either don't have an issue or recover a lot faster. A sore shoulder after a paddle used to be sore for a week or more, and stay sore for long periods, but now if I take an NSAID, no problems.
