: My solution to not having a rabbit plane.

: You make your own Chisel Plane out of a block of wood and a chisel.
: I was all set to take a pic of it but the battery is dead. A
: 1/2" chisel and a block that was an inch thick. Cut a slot
: on the 45 deg. and 1/2" thick to hold the chisel with a
: little extra for a weg that holds it all tight. Drill a hole
: from side to side infront of the chisel that connects to the
: slot you cut for a place for the shavings.

Hi Mike,
This is a tool I didn't think of making.
I bought a tiny plane a few weeks back for quite allot of money for what I thought it was worth,but I was feeling flush.This little thing has become my #1 tool.The existing small plane I used to think was my #1 tool is now languishing in the cupboard.The advantage with the rabbit is that it is tiny and I keep it in my back pocket and use it as an extension of my fingernail,almost.The disadvantage is that it is,also, tiny,I fumble with it,try to use it the wrong way around and I keep dropping it and loosing it in the shavings on the floor...A lanyard might help, but.
