: Thanks, man, I know the ice only too well. The worst of the ice was
: sitting on the shore and the depth of water right next to the
: ice was only 8-inches. Even in the middle of the river the depth
: is mostly only 2 feet except where the channel is and at this
: time of year, it don't get very deep.

: You take the shark, I will stick with the ice. Then again, I have
: never seen a bonnethead shark...where'd you say you paddle?

: Robert N Pruden

I live in Southwest Florida and paddle Pine Island Sound, Estero Bay and the Everglades. The bonnethead sharks are usually harmless and eat crabs and small bait fish. They currently have migrated into the the backbays.. Last week I jumped a redfish out of a sand hole, and a bonnethead shark went after the redfish. As I moved in for a closer view, I accidently trapped the shark next to a mangrove bank and the four foot shark darted underneath my kayak... no harm, no foul.... Its fisherman the get bitten because of poor handling and release techniques...

I enjoyed the pics....Good paddling!!
