Make sure you wipe the sawdust off your glasses, and not more than 3 beers beforehand. Seriously, I have built 2 Iggys, and they have a similar upturned end. I run the strips straight and don't try and follow the sheerline. I usually install a pinstripe of an accent wood like Padauk, Aspen, Basswood, bubinga, etc. along the sheerline and run the strips into that. You will have an easier time making the strips conform.
