Well, no, no slip of the tongue. If you follow the link to the PDF they
show a picture of a propane torch being used.
We tend to use what we have on hand.
The trouble is smart people can make silly mistakes when they're tried, or have moved on, mentally, from the task at hand.
All of my accidents have been when I was both.
It's 1 am, you've put on the last fill coat, you' re tired, happy the coatings are all done and
you see bubbles in your epoxy as you're about to head out the door and to bed.
Say you've used the alcohol method on your epoxy bubbles, and five minutes later you try the torch. The alcohol has all
evaporated from the hull, but you forgot to cap the alcohol bottle on the bench and you knock it over as you set your torch down.
It's like the say, most car accidents happen within 25 miles of home.
Most shop accidents happen when your're tired and ready to quit for the day.
Good safety habits, like always capping solvents after use are worth cultivating.
