Last year I was commissioned to do a rare "sturgeon nosed canoe" build for a member of the Sinixt Indians. A lot of press commented on it's launching at the time, and this film that was on local tv just came to my attention. It can be kind of rambling, but I found it interesting that a number of the tribe were present for a launching and were able to paddle the canoe. This is significant because this type of canoe is iconic for them, and yet few of them have ever seen a real one, and certainly not paddled what for them, is a piece of their history.
