Good luck with the recovery Randy. I don't have any further advice re. getting the broken sticks out, but I can tell you that the tubing/rope technique worked flawlessly for me, 10 fittings, 10 perfect results on my first boat. I would not consider doing it another way now.

Best regards,

Allan Edie

: I used hot glue sticks with two coats of Partall Paste #2 as a mold
: release. Of the 16 fittings the glue stick pulled right out in
: 14 of them. That leaves 2 fittings with broken glue stick ends
: pretty much flush with the deck. I need some real good advice on
: how to get these last 2 glue sticks out??? Drilling probably
: won't work as the bit hits the curve quickly. Inserting a screw
: and pulling doesn't work as it is the same as inserting a wedge
: and making it a tighter fit. I think I will try the teflon tape
: wrap method next time:(
: Thank you, Randy
