Maybe you saw it there : http://www.kayakfit.com/ (see the "COCKPIT CUSTOMIZING" link on the left). They talk about customizing sea kayak cockpits, and they say : "It is also possible to cover foam surfaces with 1/16th inch self adhesive foam or upholstery fabric for improved wear resistance and a more finished look."

By the way, they seem to sell the stuff they talk about, but I dont know them, never talked to them, never ordered anything from them.
