: Anyone have any thoughts or experience using either of these woods

: would it hold up in a kayak? Or perhaps it is too good or rare
: and better suited for another project??

Hi Aaron.

If I had a log of Yew I would carefully cut laminations and mold recurve bows from them. Sell 1 well made recurve bow where I am and you have enough cash to purchase all the materals needed for a strip built sea kayak, no kidding.
