Generally and it obviously varies since everyone's a different shape, the CB of a person is roughly where their belly button is when seated with their feet out.

You definately want to be sitting further forward than resting your back on the coaming, it's not a back rest. Sit back there and the bow will be in the air and you'll be paddling an arrow, directly down wind.
