: Anyone on here a victim of spinal fusion and still kayaking? I'm
: looking at a fusion (L4-L5). Please give me some happy news.
I had a fusion operation(Neck) in 1992... From 2000 / 2005.. I paddled 1300 miles, 25 +- miles a day, 1 week a Summer, Flat Water .. No Problems...I had a Bulgging Disc.. At that time they HARVESTED bone from your hip.. That Hurt Worst.. I understand a Cadaver Bone is used today.. Best suggestion: Follow what your Doc tells you (Activities & Time), not what you feel like doing.. You can ask your Doc for phone numbers and names of patients to speak with concerning their experience.. Since recovery, I have NO problems or pain ( Numb Tinggeling Fingers and no strength in Hand Grasp, Left hand) Welcome to the Fraternity with Dale Earnhardt SR & Payton Manning.. Best Wishes for a speedy recovery, Paul
