Bob,
Nice choices of woods, how was the mahogeny to bend on the cockpit?

: Over the holidays, I have been able to sand, varnish and rig the
: Spring Run I've been working on for what seems like an eternity
: (2 yrs). So, this morning, I carried the freshly rigged new boat
: out into the front yard and took some pics to share....

: A couple of things to note about this boat....

: 1. It's my second strip build (also second Spring Run) and my first
: attempt at building using a rolling bevel in lieu of bead and
: cove. It's got a few poorly fitting strips but in general, came
: out pretty good.

: 2. I built the cockpit large to make this boat comfortable for
: paddling in groups down lazy, flat rivers so I could easily
: enter/exit and lay my feet out on the deck while consuming my
: beverage of choice.

: 3. I installed traditional foot pegs but had been thinking about
: how to create a "bulkhead" style footrest and settled
: on the following approach. I attacheded "canoe
: footrest" tubing (ala Wenonah) to the footpegs so I would
: have support across the boat. These "canoe footrest"
: tubes can also slide in/out with the traditional footpegs. And,
: if I decide I don't like this set-up, they are easily removed as
: they are held in place with stainless machine screws/lock nuts.
: (Bill H., was thinking of you while I made this....)

: 4. It has a "Joe Greenley Redfish" seat that Joe custome
: made for me. Joe extended the length by 1 1/2" for a little
: extra thigh support....

: I've attached some pics to share in the following several
: posts..... Hope you enjoy!
