: You can get a wood stove at Harbor Freight for 170. It would be
: ideal for a smaller space like you have. You can scavenge
: pallets everywhere. Eventually you can run electric or gas -
: whatever.
: You don't have to run the stove exhaust out the roof. You can elbow
: it out the side, through a metal plate and run it up the tall
: side of the building.

: Years back I played guitar in a band and we used to practice in a
: barn with gaps between the boards. We would put some oak
: flooring scraps in that wood burner and an hour later we were in
: T-shirts on a snowy day.

a wood stove sounds like that might fill the bill. I researched Propane, Kerosene and find that route is too complicated because of the deadly precautions that I must observe and the costs involved.
Venting the wood burner is not a problem.
This morning I made an appointment with a heating company to see about the feasibility of ducting my house heat to my shop. Hope that comes out favorably.
Unfortunately, I am dead in the water till I get heat in the shop. I can work for about 4 hours in the mid-morning at the warmest time of the day. But, I spend
a couple of hours re-checking previous days work and checking to make sure all the measurements are AOK before I start hacking on the boat.
My appointment is not till Dec. 28th. so, I'll have to make do till then.
Thanks
Douglas
