Between forms 2 and 15 there is hardly any bend for a strip to make - it's very gradual. Between the bow and form 2, and the stern and form 15, there is an extra form to help keep it all fair. There is no way a 6mm thick strip of wood can be pulled out of alignment any significant amount. If anything, the reverse is the case - in some areas, a staple can't hold it in place (so you need to heat or find other ways to make it adopt the required curve).

If you use a bog standard ceiling staple gun (I got one for $20 or something from Bunnings), then it does a great job. It only fires the staples in so far - mine all sat a convenient 1mm or so proud of the strip surface (making them easy to remove. I found a staple remover like the one in Nick's book at Office Products Depot which made it a doddle). I used MDF as the form material which did a good job of holding the staple in place. Only a few places where the bends are more severe did I need something stronger (like a clamp overnight while the glue dries).

Cheers, Ian
