: Greetings all,

: I'd like to carve a kayak for the 'Dad's' entry in a pinewood
: derby. I'm not the greatest artist and have not been able to
: find a site with plans I can draw on the side of the 7x1.75x1.25
: inch pine block.

: If anyone has a site or a drawing to share I would greatly
: appreciate it.

: Thanks

: Randy

Have a look at the various buildrs sites. Many of them will have plan and elevation drawings o their various models.
Copy and paste the image into a suitable program ( eg word in landscape) and scale to the size you want.
Glue the images on to the side and top of your timber.
Cutout top profile carefully and tape offcuts back on, then cutout side profile ( bandsaw/scroll saw). This will give you a basic
form to start shaping.

Same technique is used for building ci2 racers which are a fairly common high school design project

Much info available on tnis technique, link above should get you started.
Cheers
