Yeah, sorry I am going to get 2 red cedar boards and one white. The place I am getting them from is selling them as spec lumber, so they are truly 1x12. Each board is costing me about $80 or $90. I am starting off with a few practice runs out of the cedar picket to get all my measurements correct.

Interesting on scarfing while laying the strips. I will probably try that as soon as I get the basics laid out. I want full length sheer strips and keel strips to work with in the beginning. I am doing the sheer up, keel down alternating pattern for the hull. At any rate, I have the next 10 days off, with nothing planned but hours on the boat. (except for Thanksgiving day). I'll post updates as I get them.
