OK, just finished my third 'yak, and I am apparently getting better. The wife actually wants me to build one to hang on the wall in the sun room, so the latest one must have looked OK ( at least from 15 feet away, which is the height of the ceiling in that part of the room). I have the time, and enjoy doing it - So........

Does anybody have any ideas for a good looking boat? I am thinking of something simple. Maybe just finding a few nicely figured WRC boards that transition from light to dark over their length, ripping into bookmatched strips and building a simple boat based on the KayakFoundry design.Maybe throw in a few subtle pinstripes? Maybe a dark kingstrip? Maybe a dark-and-light coaming lip? Deck rigging or no?

Also, does anybody have pictures showing mounted kayaks? I saw one in a bar called Kayak in Savannah Georgia, and it was simply hung from hooks upside-down over the bar. I saw the one on the wall of the kid's retreat recently, and that was a nice presentation.
